Eminem has now broken two hip-hop records in 2018 following his new album ‘Kamikaze‘ and its follow-up single ‘Killshot’.

According to Chart Data, ‘Kamikaze’ is now the best-selling hip-hop album of 2018 as of today (October 17), beating competition from the likes of Drake, Post Malone, XXXTentacion and Cardi B.

Per chart data, Eminem’s surprise 10th studio album Kamikaze is now the best-selling rap album of 2018 in the United States, with 406,000 pure sales.

In context, Eminem has outsold fellow superstars like Travis Scott (ASTROWORLD sits at 392,000 pure sales), Drake (Scorpion is at 292,000) and J. Cole (KOD is at 263,000) in 2018.

In 2017, Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. (910,000 pure sales) and Drake’s More Life (363,000 pure sales) held the top two spots of the year respectively. Of note, Lamar’s first week pure sales (362,000) are just shy of Drake’s total pure sales for 2017. It goes without saying, but Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. had the highest pure sales first-week of 2017.

‘Killshot’ shot to the third-highest amount of views for a music video within 24 hours of being uploaded when it dropped in September.

At 38.1 million views it’s the best total of all time for a hip hop track, beaten only by Taylor Swift‘s ‘Look What You Made Me Do’, which hit 43.2 million last year, and BTS‘ ‘Idol’, which beat the all-time record with 45 million views in August.
