KCCA Restoring Order in Kampala Campaign begins Today

Written by on November 5, 2018

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has announced that it will renew a campaign to rid Kampala of street vendors and hawkers. The operation is set to begin today. The KCCA announcement reads:

“Kampala Capital City Authority notifies and reminds the Public that maintaining Trade Order is one of its core mandates. Of late, the City has been experiencing resurgence of violation of regulations including street vendors, indiscriminate parking by taxis in non gazetted areas and abuse of traffic guidelines by motorists. Such illegal activities lead to congestion on the street pavements, obstruction of traffic and other associated vices. Following mass sensitization and engagement overtime, KCCA will embark on a crackdown of the perpetrators of the above activities for prosecution effective Monday 5th November 2018. We ask members of the public to always comply with the Law as we work towards making Kampala a better City every passing day.
