Investigations into the sale of Global trust Bank have ended with revelations that the deal was sealed in a telephone call between Justine Bagyenda, the former executive director at Bank of Uganda and Juma Kisaame, the former managing director at DFCU.  The revelations were made during the ongoing probe into the sale of banks by the parliamentary committee on Commissions, State Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) chaired by Bugweri County MP Abdu Katuntu.  The committee started their  interface with the two officials said to have participated in the negotiation process for the sale of Global Trust Bank Limited.  The two ,Timothy Ssekirayi and Mackay Awuuma had been dragged to the committee by Bagyenda who said that they were part of the Bank of Uganda’s negotiation team in the sale of Global Trust bank. Both denied being involved in the sale, stunning the committee.  Asked on who invited the then managing director DFCU Juma Kisame for the negotiation process in the sale of Global Trust Bank, Bagyenda confessed that she telephoned him.  The committee yesterday also started investigating the illegal closure of the National Bank of Commerce and today delved into the sale of Crane Bank.
