The State Minister for ICT and also the Kayunga woman Member of Parliament, Aidah Nantaba has survived an assassination.
The incident happened in Naggalama along the Kayunga road when assailants travelling on a motorcycle opened fire on the minister’s car prompting his guards to return fire.
In the exchange, one of the assailants was killed.
Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga confirmed the incident but said he would issue a full statement later.
When we tried to contact Nantaba, she rejected our calls.
However, the legislator sent an update via WhatsApp to a parliament group where she confirmed the incident and said: “I am traumatised”.
“God is great, I survived death from nasty assailants who opened fire on my car around Nagalama! Am still traumatised but praising God for the survival.”
A number of high profile persons have in the past few years been killed using the same method by assailants moving on motorbikes.
