Nwagi not to blame but the school heads – Tamale Mirundi on indecency

Written by on July 25, 2019

The past few days have been a thorn in the flesh for Swangz Avenue’s artiste Winnie ‘Nwagi’ Nakanwagi after huge criticism befell her for indecent exposure during a performance at St. Mary’s College Kisubi. She was summoned to appear before the Pornography Control Committee to explain the video that she shared online in which she appeared rub-a-dubbing young school boys.  The ‘Yitayo‘ singer obliged to the summon and later apologized to the public for indecent representation and promised to stay away from pornographic shows henceforth. Several voices have had a say on the issue and as much as many are in criticism of the songstress, Former Presidential Press Secretary Joseph Tamale Mirundi has risen to defend her.  While speaking in an interview on a local radio, Tamale Mirundi revealed that the Pornography Control Committee should have dealt with the head of the school first before summoning the artiste.  In his argument, the school leaders sat down and asked the students which artiste they wanted to watch perform. It is therefore not Nwagi’s fault because she performed to the students’ expectations and they enjoyed it.  That is exactly what the students want. They wanted (to watch) Nwagi’s thighs and they were very happy when she touched them. Parents are the ones who have exposed children to indecency.
