Man shot dead for allegedly forcing himself inside girlfriend’s hostel in Banda

Police in Kampala are investigating circumstances under which a suspected worker of National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), Atwesigye Doribert, 27, was shot dead at Kabojja Hostel located in Banda, a Kampala suburb.  According to Kampala Metropolitan police, Doribert was shot following a fracas with a security guard manning the premises, who shot him at close range.  The security guard has been identified as Kiiza Alkanglo Alali, attached to Millennium company.  “Banda Police station is investigating a shooting that happened  today 29/9/2019 at about 6:00am ,  where  one Kiiza Alkanglo Alali a security guard attached to Millennium company, shot and killed one Atwesigye Doribert 27years and a worker of  National water and sewerage cooperation  on allegations of trying to force himself inside  Kabojja Hostel,” a statement from police reads in part.  “Victim was picked and taken to Iran Uganda Medical center in critical condition and was lator announced dead. The suspect was arrested and his gun no. SR Ug PSO 12085000-03817 was recovered with one live bullet.” Eyewitnesses say that the deceased had come to visit his girlfriend, a third-year student, and resident at the premises.  In July, Moses Angoria a security guard attached to Quality Supermarket in Naalya shot dead a businessman, Arnold Ainebyona Mugisha.following an altercation over a mishandled shopping trolley.
