Kanye West’s Sunday Service at televangelist Joel Osteen’s Houston megachurch drew record 4.17 million viewers

Kanye West‘s Sunday Service at televangelist Joel Osteen’s Houston-based Lakewood Church set streaming records for Christian broadcasts.  The Grammy-winner’s outing totaled about 4.17 million unique viewers on the religious institution’s Facebook and YouTube platforms, according to TMZ, compared to Osteen’s average of 700,000 and 1.3 million viewers.  West’s outing was also heard on SiriusXM radio and is slated for broadcast on television in the next few weeks, according to the outlet.  In his later performance, West, 42, led a group that delivered gospel-inspired takes on Destiny’s Child’s Say My Name, Stevie Wonder’s Overjoyed and SWV’s Weak, according to the Houston Chronicle.  He opened up in an early chat with Osteen Sunday about his spiritual turn: ‘I know that God’s been calling me for a long time and the devil’s been distracting me for a long time.’
