Swangz Avenue’s newest recruit Azawi breaks out with ‘Quinamino’ | AUDIO

I want to be your Mami yo, I want to be your Quinamino... The chorus to Azawi’s new song is quite simple but it won’t leave your head the very first time you listen to it.  In our story about the artistes to watch out for in 2020, we listed Azawi as one of the huge prospects and with her very first release, we are highly impressed.  Azawi, real name Zawedde Priscillah, possesses a voice that easily gets stuck to your mind. Add it to her ability to shift vocal ranges at different moments in the song and we have a rising star at our hands.  Some people have already acclaimed her as Uganda’s version of Tiwa Savage. Others point out her similarity to US-based Ugandan songstress Zany Lady-C who graced the music industry with ‘Ndoowa’ in 2007.  We’re yet to confirm if Azawi picks inspiration from the said divas but yes, the similarity in her voice is loud. The question of whether she can go on and follow in their footsteps will be answered by the end of this year.  Having officially signed to Swangz Avenue on November 1st 2019, Azawi has everything to turn into a big brand at her disposal.  Quinamino, produced by Kuseim at Swangz Avenue studios, is the very first of the many other songs to come from her and you can listen to it below: (Your rating is welcome)
