Having checked into rehab, is MC Kats safe now?

Written by on January 14, 2020

On Saturday 11th January 2020, renown Ugandan emcee and talent manager Edwin Katamba a.k.a MC Kats willingly checked into rehab at Butabika National Hospital.  Escorted by a group of friends including; Spice Diana’s manager Roger Lubega, Chameleone’s official Deejay VJ Babylove, Kim Swagga, MC Jerome, among others, MC Kats recorded a video of his first day in rehabilitation.  Now that am mad, and everyone knows am mad, I’ve decided to go for treatment because because I’m officially mad. No one has forced me. Let me go to the school of ma.  MC Kats said as he checked into the rehab center.  This came after over three months of MC Kats being on rampage, filming different videos in which he threatened to end his own life because of depression.  In December 2019, MC Kats went public about his HIV/AIDS status as he revealed that he is HIV positive and how he had stopped taking ARVs and had asked God to take his life.  His statements got everybody worried and social media was awash with messages urging those close to him to take extra care and see that he does not commit suicide.  The celebrated emcee and media personality was given a month’s leave off his work at NBS Television and it’s during this period that his friends managed to convince him to check into a rehabilitation center.  The two main questions on people’s lips right now are whether MC Kats can last in the rehabilitation center to get the help needed and if his mind is in the right place to recover. Is he safe now?  In a video posted on his Instagram, MC Kats was deprived of his beer bottle after checking into the rehab center and that seemed to trouble him. He vowed not to allow being forced into doing anything against his will and he doubted he would last for the three days he was given in rehab.  I’ve been told that I will be here for three days but when I get fed up I will leave. Let me see what they are going to do to me but nobody is going to force me to do anything. I’m not stupid.
