Rema’s hubby Dr. Hamza Ssebunya graduates from Makerere University

Congratulations are in order for singer Rema Namakula’s husband Dr. Hamza Ssebunya who graduated on Tuesday with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery from Makerere University Kampala.  Prior to the highly publicized wedding ceremony that happened last year involving Rema and Dr. Ssebunya, the internet went awash with most of Eddy Kenzo’s sympathizers claiming that Ssebunya wasn’t really qualified for the Doctor title.  The Gynecologist was put on the spot to produce his academic qualifications, something which he declined. He, nevertheless, went on to become Rema’s lawfully wedded husband.  Today however, Dr. Ssebunya made a huge statement at Makerere Univeristy’s 70th graduation ceremony which happened at the Freedom Square at the MUK main campus.  He was awarded his Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery. He instantly became the center of attraction when he walked in amidst speeches from invited guests and loud cheers covered the Freedom Square grounds.  It was also revealed by sources close to him that he has a Diploma in Gynecology. Congratulations to you Dr. Hamza Ssebunya!  This year, 13,509 students are graduating from Makerere University, out of which, 6,820 (50.5%) are female and 6689 (49.5%) are male.  61 are receiving PhDs and 1173 are getting their masters. 422 of these got first-class degrees with the best coming from the Makerere University Business School (MUBS) with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.92.  The best student in sciences, Sarah Namayengo, posted a CGPA of 4.83 and yesterday she received a plaque and sh1m from the University.
