Young Thug Asks Kanye If His ‘Verse About the Devil’ Made ‘Jesus Is King’

Written by on October 3, 2019

Though nothing has been confirmed, fans are still convinced that Young Thug will appear on Kanye West‘s ninth studio album. The theories of a Thug cameo began circulating in September 2018, when he tweeted: “@kanyewest If I’m not on #YANDHI I’m never talking to u again #OnGod.”  The concluding hashtag was also featured on the purported tracklist for Kanye’s Jesus Is King, leading many to believe a Thugger feature was guaranteed.  Kanye has previewed the album during a number of listening sessions over the weekend; however, no one knows if Thugger’s contribution will make the final cut. And it seems Thug has also been left out of the loop.  On Wednesday, the ATL rapper sent a tweet to Kanye, asking if his “verse about the devil” was still on Jesus Is King. As of Wednesday night, Kanye has not responded.  Uncertainty continues to loom over Jesus Is King, as fans have yet to receive a new release date. The much-anticipated project was initially set to drop on Sept. 27, but was then pushed back to Sept. 29. Jesus Is King is still nowhere to be seen; however, some suspect it’ll arrive later this month along with its companion film.  “Filmed in the summer of 2019, Jesus Is King brings Kanye West’s famed Sunday Service to life in the Roden Crater, visionary artist James Turrell’s never-before-seen installation in Arizona’s Painted Desert,” read a press release about the film. “This one-of-a-kind experience features songs arranged by West in the gospel tradition along with music from his new album Jesus Is King—all presented in the immersive sound and stunning clarity of IMAX.”   documentary film is scheduled to hit IMAX theaters on Oct. 25.
