Cosase clears Bagyenda to travel abroad

The committee of Commissions, Statutory Authority and State Enterprises chaired by Abdu Katuntu has granted leave former Bank of Uganda head of supervision to travel abroad to enjoy her Christmas holiday .  Last week, Justine Bagyenda wrote to COSASE requesting for the release of her passport to travel abroad during this Christmas season.  Releasing the passport, Abdu Katuntu said, “We have cleared you to travel abroad for your Christmas as requested last week but am warning you that this time we will not look for you and you know the consequences because we have the capacity to hunt for you regardless of your location abroad.”  Ever since the committee embarked on the investigations of closure of defunct banks namely Global trust bank, National Bank of Commerce, Tefe, Greenland Bank, and Crane Bank, Justine Bagyenda and Benedict Ssekabila Moses are key witnesses in this probe.  The committee will resume investigations immediately after the festival season on 8th January 2019.  The committee were left rilled last month after Bagyenda who was meant to appear before it, left the country without notice allegedly to attend to personal engagements.  Following her return, Bagyenda was ordered to deposit her passports and travel documents to avoid occurrence of the same.
